meet Michael Kyllo-Kittleson
Hello and welcome!
I’m Michael - a proud Minnesotan and Gopher Grad who loves animals,
houseplants, MMA, and stand-up comedy.
My journey in photography began with my first point-and-shoot camera at the age of 12. It was a little silver Nikon CoolPix I’d later plug into the wrong charger, absolutely fry it, and learn an important lesson about voltage…
Fostered by my family, I was on my way.
Following highschool, earning a photography scholarship entering my freshman year at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN led to a staff photographer role in the athletic department. I continued to hone my skills shooting soccer, basketball, hockey, football, swimming, tennis and softball.
During this time I started Fraction Photography. But more on that later…
After transferring to the University of Minnesota for my sophomore year I found the most incredible home with Gopher Softball and spent eight years with the program as a student-manager and Director of Operations following graduation. During that time, I had the privilege of intimatley documenting the program through photography, videography, and social media while working alongside some of the most talented people I’ve ever known.
Since then, I’ve worked with a few digital publications covering softball and have been able to cover events like the NCAA Women’s College World Series in 2019 and 2023. I spent some time as a freelancer which included a stint with Knack Social
(a boutique marketing agency in Minneapolis, MN. Knack, ILYSM.)
Noselttik Creative is a revitalization!
Why?
Because remember Fraction Photography above? I shut it down in 2016. It was going really well and I was making my way as a wedding photographer but I was irrevocably burnt out. I mean fried myself worse than my CoolPix camera after getting hit with 10,000 volts kind of burnt out. And from there, I wouldn’t touch my camera outside of work for about four+ years or the occasional family milestone.
But it’s my love and fierce passion for animals and the human-animal bond that’s drawn me back to my camera. Having grown up with pets all my life, I can’t imagine our world without them. Capturing their wonderful faces and lively spirits is a passion that fills me with unmeasurable joy.
So, welcome to Noselttik Creative! And come along with me as I fall back in love with my first love.
